I can’t lie, I’m quite a bit nervous sitting down to write this thing. And it usually takes a lot to make me nervous… they were right, the world is a scary place. But alas, the show must go on, so now for the business at hand.
About Me
You may be wondering, “Who is this zucchini muffin who dares interrupt my breakfast with his blog?” I’m so glad you asked. My name is Jackson Desnoyers – but most people just call me Jackson. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, but if I’m being honest, much prefer to be away from the busyness and noise of the city. I have no complaints though, because when it comes to my family and the friends I’ve grown up with, I couldn’t ask for anything more. I am the oldest of five, with three sisters and a brother, all of whom I love very much. I can confidently say that I’ve laughed more with them than anyone else in the whole world. As for the rest of my friends and my church (Church of the Redeemer if you’re curious, check it out ;), again, I couldn’t ask for anything more. They’ve been everything for me, and I’m so thankful for all of them. Now it’s time for random things about me:
- I love books (sci-fi especially (Ender’s Game was my favorite))
- I lived in Slovakia for a few years when I was a baby
- I play lots of music (piano, guitar, and recently drums)
- I’ve played soccer basically my whole life
- I love country/folk/bluegrass music, old rock, and worship music, but can enjoy most genres to an extent
- I am generally a quiet person
- On that note, I just ran out of things to say
The most important thing about me though, is that I only want to follow God. I fail time and time again, but He is my true delight and I only want my life if I can meet Him in it. He’s the sole reason for this mission trip I’m going on, and I’m looking forward to what He has in store for me next year. Exactly what that is, I do not yet know, but I trust His love and His providence, knowing that ’tis grace that has brought me safe thus far, and ’tis grace that will lead me home.
That is all I will say for now, because I just realized that it’s 1am and I can barely keep my eyes open. Thank you so much for reading, and be sure to check back here for more posts every now and then. I plan to write one every couple of weeks leading up to my departure, and then see how things are after that. Ok world, goodbye until next time.
In Christ,
Jackson
